THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's law practice is focused on family law. She has a passion for it. She focuses a majority of her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes, property distribution in marital relationships and child custody battles. child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement and issues, step-parent and private party adoptions and child welfare concerns. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning issues, such as trusts, wills, probate, and estate administration, in addition to commercial contracts, civil litigation cases. Ashley has served as a mediator appointed by the court since the year 2019 she assists parties in helping to resolve their issues without needing to litigate or court involvement. In addition to court-appointed mediation, Ashley also mediates in private cases for people who would prefer to avoid the court process and litigation.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she earned dual bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was a Note Editor for the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This was a sign of her dedication to scholarship and research in the field of law.

Following the completion of her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship, working for prominent jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate enough to serve as a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014 she returned home to her hometown of Hagerstown to work as a clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long at the Washington County Circuit Court, further enhancing her knowledge of the local legal landscape. Learn more about Ashley Wilburn

In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. as an associate attorney. Her main responsibilities was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters pertaining to child welfare. Ashley's dedicated efforts played a significant role in helping children who were victims of in the face of neglect or abuse at hands their parents or caregivers. Her dedication to social justice went beyond the realm of law as she actively served as an officer of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force and worked tirelessly to increase awareness of human trafficking in the tristate area.

In 2017 she was a founding member at Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and established her practice in family law, including custody, divorce, child maintenance and guardianships and financial and estate planning - wills, trusts, power of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy and mediation.

Ashley established Wilburn Law Office, LLC, in 2023, with the intention of providing a personalized approach to every client's requirements.
